By handling administrative tasks such as drafting agendas and distributing key documents, we can significantly reduce your workload.

Our Service Level Agreement outlines standard support options, but we're flexible and can tailor our support to meet your specific needs. Our annual contract allows you to select the level of governance professional clerking support that best suits your board's meeting requirements and budget.

We provide full induction, mentoring, quality assurance and a range of training to support and develop our Governance Professional Clerks, and access to:

  • A dedicated phone and email helpdesk

  • An induction course covering all aspects of the Governance Professional Clerk role

  • Training to support clerking of exclusions and complaint hearings

  • Termly network briefings – which are tailored to deliver governance professional clerk specific updates in line with DfE and best practice

  • Access to Modern Governor eLearning modules including governance professional supporting content 

  • Full access to the governors’ training and development programme (subject to the school purchasing governor training)

  • Opportunity to access the Governance Professional Clerk development programme

  • A termly list of suggested agenda items

  • Governance Professional Clerk (GPC) resources area on GovernorHub – which includes access to NCOGs Clerks’ Handbook, governance resources, GPCs templates and resources; as well as providing regular updates to national legislation issued by the DfE

 


 

Our governance professionals can also support with exclusion, staff disciplinary and complaint hearings.

The Governance Professional Clerk provides comprehensive support in-line with your subscription, including:

  • Drafting agendas and circulating supporting papers in line with statutory timelines.
  • Attending the meetings and producing clear and effective minutes.
  • Providing advice and support related to the meeting
  • Maintaining a record of governing board membership.
  • Recording meeting attendance

Training and support for school based/independent Governance Professionals Clerks

We provide school-based governance professional clerks with ongoing training and support to ensure they are kept up-to-date with the latest governance changes and developments, and have continuous access to the latest guidance and resources. 

All training has been designed to support the 3 areas Values, Knowledge and Practice and 12 competencies as outlined in the CGI Competency Framework for Governance Professionals.
